Attorney & Counselor
Background
After receiving his business finance degree from the University of Texas School of Business in 1992, Karl received his juris doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996, and was licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas in the same year. For the next three years, he practiced at a small litigation firm in downtown Austin. Shortly before receiving his CPA certificate in 1999, Karl began his private law practice and has maintained his practice ever since.
How He Charges
Depending on the matter at issue, Karl will charge a flat fee or will charge based on an hourly rate, or some combination of the two. Generally, Will “packages” are priced at a flat fee (to include a Will, Financial Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney, HIPAA Release, Living Will, and Advanced Declaration of Guardian). Similarly, single-owner entity formations will often be priced at a flat fee. For hourly matters, Karl charges different hourly fees for legal work vs tax preparation, and is happy to provide estimates.
